Trinity-St.Andrew’s United Church is a faith-based, Affirming, inter-generational community-based church. Sunday morning services are at 9:30 am. Organ music, Violin, piano or Hand Bells often accompany a wonderful Choir. Coffee and refreshments provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to visit and keep in touch. The church building is also available to host group events.

At The Nourish and Develop Foundation, our mission is to connect people with nourishing food and supportive resources, empowering the community to create lasting change! Since opening our doors in 2008, community food work has been our bread and butter. Our Food Services branch not only alleviates hunger in a dignified way, but also works to improve food security for households and the community. Programs like the Nourish House Food Bank, Mobile Food Market, Community Lunch, and Food Literacy Workshops are central to our efforts. In 2023, we proudly introduced our Social Services branch to address immediate needs while supporting long-term growth for individuals, families, and the entire community. Our programs include Life Skills Workshops, Social Service Access Points, and Transitional Housing, all designed to empower our community. Across these two service branches, in deep collaboration, we provide low-barrier support to those in need, working toward our vision of a thriving community where everyone is food secure, safely housed, and well supported.

Welcome to the Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival on April 5-6, 2025! Now in its 28th year, this well-loved event attracts visitors from Toronto, Durham Region and the rest of the Greater Toronto Area – and even beyond! The festival offers a great opportunity to discover the many things that make Sunderland special, while celebrating the time-honoured Canadian tradition of making maple syrup.

The Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival relies on its organizers, sponsors and the army of volunteers who make this event possible year after year!

Spay Neuter Initiatives Association is dedicated to addressing the issue of pet overpopulation by helping low-income families in Durham Region access low-cost spay/neuter services for their pets.

We are a not-for-profit organization of individuals who live in Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock Townships. Each of us brings unique skills to the table, allowing us to work together and achieve our goals. Our vision statement is clear: we strive for an inclusive and diverse rural culture that values and respects 2SLGBTQI+ communities.

Community events play an important role in promoting inclusivity, fighting for rights, and celebrating diversity. Specifically, 2SLGBTQI+ events provide a crucial opportunity to break isolation and create safe spaces for socializing, especially for those in rural areas where transportation and meeting places can be scarce. This is particularly important as it can be easy to feel disconnected from one’s neighbours in rural communities.

We are a twelve-member board approved by Brock Township for one election period. Our local councillor, Lynn Campbell, supervises but is a non-voting member. Our mandate is to raise funds through grants and fundraising events to make improvements to the hall. We also work to encourage hall rentals, and through community events we host to build community awareness and fellowship.

We are a charitable organization that serves DDSB students who face socioeconomic barriers to success. We support all students in the board under our 5 pillars of support all the way north to Beaverton and Cannington, all the way east to Oshawa, all the way West to Pickering and every town, city and locality in between.

Since 2014, First Act Youth Company has been offering industry-leading musical theatre training for young artists. Our comprehensive training sets us apart from other educational institutions. We offer one-of-a-kind programming along with foundational training in singing, acting and dance, as musical theatre is our core focus. We hire industry professionals who inspire and mentor students, with an emphasis on experiential learning and development in every discipline. The FAYC curriculum is specifically designed to provide students with the tools needed to succeed in the performing arts industry and beyond. With classes and programs for ages 3+, we’ve got something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned performer with goals of pursuing this as a career or trying it out for the very first time, this is the place for you.

Putting labour market information into the hands of everyone in Durham Region is an ongoing challenge. The Durham Workforce Authority takes on many projects annually and reports to the community, the board of directors and the funder. The DWA conducts research of employers’ labour requirements to gain insight into occupational and skill needs; facilitates local planning to implement joint actions to address local labour-market gaps; and develops partnership projects that respond to local labour-market challenges.

The Cannington Lions Club was founded in 1948. Since then, the club has done some amazing things for the town of Cannington.

Besides all of the donations made to local organizations, in an effort to make Cannington an amazing place to live and play. They have also made many Stunning improvements to the town you might not be aware of!

Cool Cow is run by local youth and guided by the Brock Youth Centre.

The Cannington Lawn Bowling Club (CLBC) is a non-profit, community-based business that aims to foster
knowledge and skills in the sport of lawn bowling for youth and adults of all ages. Lawn bowling
provides low-impact exercise, can be easily adapted to a variety of needs and abilities, and builds
social inclusion and friendships through jitneys/games and tournaments. No experience needed!

Serving Cannington, Sunderland and the surrounding area for over 40 years. Proud member of District 17 within the Ontario Horticultural Association.

Our Society’s program consists of expert guest speakers offering information on various horticultural subjects, as well as our annual plant auction, open gardens, flower, vegetable and photographic competitions – plus the beautification of both Sunderland and Cannington villages through various horticultural projects.

Annual membership fee of $15 per person entitles each member to the club yearbook and to attend regular meetings with the privilege of exhibiting in all shows.

The Cannington Haunted Trail and Maze is an event held over two evenings to celebrate Halloween.

Brock Community Health Centre (Brock CHC) is a community health service for residents of Brock Township and surrounding areas.

Create, Connect, Discover. Our Mission is to encourage and support creative vision and expression through the arts in Brock Township and the surrounding area and to provide opportunities to enjoy and enrich the vibrant cultural fibre that is part of our wonderful communities. Brock Arts and Culture is a volunteer-based group and welcomes all individuals and groups that would enjoy contributing, participating or attending events and programs that we have to offer throughout the year.

For 47 years, BBBSND has been our community’s leading child and youth mentorship organization. Our volunteer mentors have devoted countless hours helping ignite the power and potential of young people. All of our programs strive to foster a child’s personal growth, improve resiliency and increase self-esteem and self-confidence. Our mission is enriching the lives of children in our community through positive mentoring relationships. Our Vision is: Every child in our community who needs a mentor has a mentor.

We are a charitable organization, active in Scugog, Uxbridge, and Brock Townships.

The historic Beaverton Town Hall is home to our theatre group. Originally built in 1910, the theatre auditorium is on the second floor, where we can comfortably seat two hundred patrons. The lower floor of the theatre is wheelchair accessible by an elevator, but the balcony is not. A wheelchair accessible washroom is available on the first floor.

We are a registered, volunteer, charitable theatre organization and have been producing plays and musicals for over thirty years. We try to put on four to five productions a year under our motto of “Let us entertain you!”

We are always looking for more volunteers for on-stage and off-stage work. If you are interested in helping, please email us with your interests and experience. To work in our group, an interest is necessary, but experience is not.

The Beaverton Thorah Eldon Historical Society exists for the purpose of preserving the history of the community through research, collecting items of historical interest and preserving municipal and family history. The Historical Society, through the Beaver River Museum, is also involved in community outreach. The Meeting Place houses a large meeting and display room, archives, curator’s office, collection storage, and a video-editing studio. Annually, about 1000 people enjoy touring the buildings from late May to the end of September.

Beaverton Special Events is a local non-profit charity located in Beaverton, Ontario. Our aim is to celebrate our community by organizing and promoting special events and initiatives throughout the year.

Beaverton Skating Club is sanctioned by Skate Canada, offering learn-to-skate programming for beginners to advanced. Our professional certified coaching team provide quality training for all levels of skaters' needs. Improve basic skills, whether their focus is Figure Skating, Hockey, Ringette, Speed, or Pleasure. Beaverton Skating Club proudly has been serving the youth of Brock and surrounding communities for over 75 years.

The Beaverton Garden Club is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that has been beautifying the Beaverton community since 1922. The Garden Club invests in activities to support horticulture and environmental conservation in the community. The Beaverton Garden Club purchases plants for several public gardens, and members work diligently to keep these attractive throughout the year. The Garden Club provides monthly educational programs and activities focused on a variety of topics promoting environmental stewardship, including gardening, food production, the use of native plants and trees, pollinator support and backyard conservation. The Beaverton Curling Club is a not-for-profit organization that provides opportunities for physical activity, friendships, and fun for all.
The Beaverton Curling Club was first established in 1884. The original Beaverton Curling Rink was built in 1897 on Bay Street near the present-day Fire Station. By 1976, this building was in disrepair. With financial assistance from members, the Town Council, the Fair Board, and the Provincial Government, the new curling club was officially opened on March 19th, 1977. At present, post-COVID, the BCC continues to focus on growing membership, welcoming all ages and enhancing our youth program. We also continue our fundraising efforts to cover our rising operating costs and to maintain reasonable membership dues.

The Beaverton Fall Fair is an annual agricultural fair that is held in Beaverton, Ontario in September.
